    • Location: Handeni District, Tanga, Tanzania

    • Current Situation:
      • 870 students
      • Six dilapidated classrooms
      • No functioning bathrooms
      • Some students study outdoors under a tree

    • Planned Improvements (by CAI):
      • Restoration into a modern learning institution
      • Construction of a 10-cubicle bathroom for girls and another for boys
      • Addition of two new classrooms to accommodate outdoor learners

    • Location: Mnazi, Kivingo Village, Lushoto District, Tanzania

    • Current Situation:
      • 840 students
      • Seven dilapidated classrooms
      • No functioning bathrooms
      • Some students study outdoors under a tree

Instead of repeatedly appealing donors for medical funds, CAI paid for a basic government-backed health insurance scheme, costing just $14 a year. This small intervention transformed Hytham’s life; he now receives regular medical care and free medication, and attends school where he plays merrily with his peers.
