Although CAI supports many global humanitarian projects, our focus and priority are and will remain education. To this end, CAI donors have financed the construction of 24 schools in remote areas of Afghanistan, 1 in Bangladesh, 1 in Burkina Faso, 9 in India, 1 in Iraq, 1 in Kenya, 1 in Lebanon, 1 in Liberia, 2 in Madagascar, 2 in Mali, 14 in Pakistan, 4 in the Philippines, 2 in Senegal, 1 in Sierra Leone, 1 in Syria, 30 in Tanzania, 3 in Uganda, and 1 in Yemen.

Literacy and knowledge are the only solutions to irradicate ignorance, poverty, intolerance, and extremism. Over the last 27 years, CAI has witnessed incredible success in poverty alleviation through education in the countries where CAI has been active. Children, especially girls, who were in the gutters of slum dwellings are now doctors, nurses, pharmacists, computer programmers, teachers, and MBAs in various disciplines. CAI will, insha’Allah, continue this success elsewhere in the coming years.

CAI is active in orphan and widow care, as compassion and humanity dictate; donors have constructed five orphanages in India, three in Afghanistan, one in Zanzibar, one in Bangladesh (Rohingya), one in Yemen, and one in Lebanon, actively supporting the education and lives of over 982 orphans worldwide.

Medical care is a huge issue in rural Afghanistan, where whole communities have not had contact with a medical practitioner – ever! CAI operates six fully equipped medical clinics in some of the most remote parts of Afghanistan or the earth. A qualified doctor, nurse, midwife, and free medications are available for the destitute. Women give birth in clean and medically supervised clinics, and children get free vaccinations for the first time. A maternity hospital for poor women in rural Manakara, Madagascar, is in the final planning stages and will soon begin construction.

Care for refugees fleeing violence or natural calamities, blankets for the exposed in winter, water where there is none, feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, and women’s economic empowerment programs; CAI donors stand ready to lend a helping hand. Globally, partnering with local NGOs, CAI donors have helped those in crisis in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Haiti, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Ivory Coast, Lebanon, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Myanmar, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Syria, Tanzania, and Yemen.
