After agonizing delays due to severe winter in Afghanistan where even dirt was frozen solid, construction of CAI’s 11th elementary school (this one for girls only) is on tailwind, insha’Allah due for completion first week of June. These orphans at our Zahra Boys Home in Sirsi were recently awarded excellence in education awards for their performance in regional board exams for UP, India. Considering these children were received at the orphanage in very primitive conditions only about two years ago, this is massive achievement, alhamd’Allah.

With winter waning rapidly, this planned US$77,000 water distribution project is well under way for completion on time and budget insha’Allah end September 2012. Cyclone Devastates Kishangang, Bihar Homes

A cyclone hit a very poor Muslim community at Kishangang, Bihaar last week causing massive destruction to hovels of poor momeneens. CAI has already approved reconstruction of these homes completely destroyed; you may consider sponsoring this project if you can please. Few photos:
