Medical Appeal
I am on my way to Afghanistan at the moment but wanted your urgent assistance regarding the following 2 life / death medical cases from Kargil where CAI just concluded a very successful medical camp (report and photos out in very near future).
1. Kaniz Fatemah is 7, hails from Lankarchey District in Kargil and suffers from Retinobla Stoma (Cancer of retina). Meeting with Fatemah was a painful experience; this beautiful innocent child developed the disease three years ago. Her mother is mentally unstable so her relatives tried treating her at a local medical clinic; they have been struggling ever since because they cannot afford bus fare to Srinagar where such cases may be treatable. If not treated right away, Fatemah will lose her left eye as well and her life afterwards.
We cannot let this happen; I have arranged for her to be operated on right away. She will lose her right eye and go through intense radiation so this is a race to save her life. Preliminary costs are USD7,000 so I appeal to all of you, please give and let us give this beautiful child a fighting chance to see / live again.
2. Nazia Gulaam Mohammed is only 15 months old, hails from Chulichaw District in Kargil; she suffers from Kemangioma. Nazia needs immediate surgery to remove the growth but surgery will have to be either in Srinagar or Mumbai as even a tiny prick into the main blood vessel will ensure she bleeds to death.
Again, we cannot let this happen; I have arranged for her to be operated on right away. Preliminary costs are USD2,000 so I appeal to all of you, please let us save her life.
None of these cases are Sadaat friendly but will take sadeqa or zakaat or general charity.
