Eid al Adha Qurbani
As usual, CAI is mobilizing for the Eid al Adha qurbani for the year 2022. Meat and skin will be distributed to the poor and destitute in the following countries:
Afghanistan – Large animal US$113
India – Medium animal US$104
E. Africa (Tanzania/Kenya/Uganda) – Small animal US$50
Yemen – Large animal US$140

Hydrocephalus / Spina Bifida Camp 4
It was another lifesaving day for 25 very poor infants from upcountry Tanzania coming to Dar es Salaam for surgery to correct their birth defects. These kids have virtually no chance of survival without the generosity of CAI donors who pay $100 per surgery. With the surgery, the kids have a fair chance of survival without long-term pain or crippling handicaps. The surgery was performed at Muhimbili Hospital, and I was lucky to meet and comfort some of the kids. It is always a heart-wrenching experience that leaves me unsettled but gratified. Home For The Homeless - Afghanistan
CAI donor-funded project to provide homes for the homeless in Afghanistan continues with the construction of 45 homes in Herat and 25 in Mazaar e Shareef. Priority for the homes is given to widows and single mothers with children. Many of these beneficiaries are survivors of bomb attacks who have lost an earning member of the family.
