Pakistan Flood - An SOS
I have just completed an extensive visit to Sindh, Pakistan that has been devastated by the recent floods. It was a surreal experience, one I have not witnessed in the 25 years with CAI. The attached photos will speak of the devastation in place.
A 100 mile area, once fertile land is now underwater shutting out millions from food and shelter. It is a colossal disaster of epic proportions. The people affected are not beggars, rather, they are honorable farmers, hard working and proud of their profession. Now, they are totally dependent on handouts. CAI has helped with food aid. The problem is the approaching winter. As hot as Sindh gets in the summer, nights in the winter months are a peril to life for the vulnerable sick, elderly and the young.
CAI will be distributing 10,000 blankets and tents to the victims shortly insha’Allah but this is a drop in the ocean. Much more is urgently needed to save lives. This is a very URGENT appeal to please help if possible and let us save lives.
CAI School Kabul – A Gem Amongst The Chaos
The CAI Private English School in Kabul is maintaining very high standards through severe challenges in operations and daunting security issues. 150 CAI orphans and 138 others get quality education and care here. Sharing a few photos.
