Winter Blankets – Save Lives
The bitter cold of winter is not too far off. Harsh winters in the remote places that CAI serves bring discomfort, misery, and even death to the poor and vulnerable. We are mobilizing to distribute thick, warm blankets to families, especially single women with children in remote parts of Afghanistan, Iraq, India (Kargil), Pakistan (north), Iraq, and Yemen. Children such as these:
A long-lasting life-saving blanket costs US$32 and covers 2 adults. Our target is to distribute about 5,000 blankets in these countries. Please help in this very worthy cause. Sponsor a blanket or more and give comfort to a poor family – even save a life. Allah bless.
Toilets For Tanga
CAI donors stepped in and refurbished awfully dilapidated toilets for Bosha Secondary School in Kwemtindi village outside Tanga, Tanzania. Children had to come to school with a water canister from home, go to a dirty water source before classes, and tote the can full of water for their use during the day. CAI donors paid to drill a deep water well for the school and nearby village, and completely renovated the toilets, fitted with potable water piped in from the water well.

Change In The Offing
CAI is going to have a change in leadership beginning January 1, 2024 – I will be stepping down as CEO and resigning and Sohail Abdullah will take over the leadership. The Board of Trustees will still be in place, of course. It has been wonderful over 25 years at the helm, and I was most fortunate and blessed to have had the blessing of this role.
I need personal time to enjoy the sunset of my life plus I do not have the same energy needed for the constant travel and headbutting needed for this role. Sohail has shadowed me for several years and he will, insha’Allah, lead and grow CAI to better and higher heights. I plea for all donors and well-wishers to continue the fantastic support going forward.
