Blankets Drive | Winter 2024
Afghanistan, Syria, parts of Pakistan, and India experience severe winters, especially in remote areas. Sadly, many impoverished, old, infirm, and very young do not see the light of day as they succumb to hypothermia. This tragedy is avoidable with a contribution of US$32 per person. A thick, sturdy blanket will provide lifesaving warmth to an infirm, old individual, a widow, and her child.
This winter, Comfort Aid International will distribute lifesaving blankets to new recipients in different remote areas of Afghanistan, India, Iraq, Pakistan, Syria, and Yemen.
The goal is to distribute about 7,700 blankets in these countries at approximately US$248,000. To take advantage of the lower prices, we must commit to purchasing these blankets now, as the prices will increase by 25% in December.
Please pledge or donate [select Disaster/Blankets] to sponsor one or more blankets to help save a life!
Maternity Ward Inauguration | Al Kauthar Hospital | Islamabad, Pakistan
With Pakistan’s high maternal and child mortality rates, compounded with poor healthcare facilities and services, TRS (NZ) and Comfort Aid International’s joint sponsorship of equipment for the maternity ward at Al Kauthar Hospital, a JBHT project north of Islamabad, was inaugurated on September 9, 2024.
This facility will provide top-tier healthcare services to underserved and marginalized patients along the northern corridor of Pakistan, from as far west as its border with Afghanistan to the remote parts of Baltistan, a critical life-saving option for mothers and their babies to receive urgent medical care.

Economic Empowerment Project for Farmers | Busia, Kenya
In 2010, Comfort Aid International donors supported a poor farming community in rural Kenya by helping them lease a 10-acre plot for cultivating sugarcane. Busia’s farming community of about 45 families (150+ people) is now reaping the benefits of selling sugarcane to a nearby sugar mill.
Comfort Aid International donors had also supported 11 widows with 11 calves, producing milk for supplemental income. These calves have grown and gifted the widows with seven additional calves.
They are requesting help to re-lease the current 10-acre plot and lease an additional 10-acre plot to expand this project’s scope.
Lease of 20 acres: $23,000
CAI donors are not only providing one-off sustenance but also empowering the farming community to be self-reliant. This investment will pay dividends to the community for years to come.
