2011 Ramadhan Iftaar Fund: |
Repeating our efforts of past 17 years, CAI will insha’Allah assist in providing poor families with Iftaar support this coming blessed month of Ramadhan. I will personally supervise part distributions in Afghanistan and India, insha’Allah. Our reach will include feeding programs for the poor and destitute in the following countries:
– 3,200 families @ US$28 per family unit
Total cost US$89,600
– 140 families @ US$21 per family unit
Total cost US$2,940
– 2,300 families @ US$21 per family unit
Total cost US$48,300
– 200 families @ US$23 per family unit
Total cost US$4,600 Total planned disbursement of about US$145,400 needs to be raised between now and Ramadhan 1 (August 1). CAI will forward contract with vendors on these food items at current prices to lock in savings, as prices will increase an average of 20% as we approach the holy month. Please, please give or pledge generously NOW so we can be prepared insha’Allah. I am certain we will all play our parts to make this Ramadhan a little easier for those who struggle to survive. Ramadhan For Muslims In Haiti: |
CAI has been approached by a new struggling Muslim community outside Port o Prince, Haiti for assistance in Iftaar to the poor for Ramadhan; they number 75 individuals. CAI has not verified authenticity of this community but is fairly confident of need for aid. Those willing to help feed these new Muslims with Iftaar amounting US$2,000, please help.

Afghanistan Project Updates: |
1. CAI is ecstatic total funds for a brand new elementary school, our 9th school project in Afghanistan, have been pledged, alhamd’Allah. Belkhaab is an extremely poor area in Afghanistan where children currently sit in freezing torn tents for classes. Construction will begin shortly and we will, insha’Allah, initiate classes October 2011.
A huge jazaak’Allah to all donors, small and large, who made this project a reality.
2. On Shabaan 5th, birthday of our beloved Imam Sajjad (A) a new medical clinic aptly named Imam Sajjad (A) Medical Clinic, Sarepole, Afghanistan officially opens (postponed from Rajab 13 due to logistical issues) her doors in service to the poor and destitute sick of the area.
We appeal for continued support towards operational costs of medical personell and drugs for this much needed service. |
