Ramadhan Iftaar Appeal – Update

As you can gather from the indicator, this years Iftaar fund-raising is in serious, serious trouble; a striking departure from yesteryear’s. I will have some very hard choices to make in the next week to 10 days, either reducing the quantity or number of families we give to, both heart breaking. Again, I plead with you to please help out if you can with this very worthy cause if you can, only for the pleasure of Allah (S). USD28 per family in Afghanistan and USD17.50 for India.

Update on Imam Hussein (A) Elementary and High School at Daste Barchi, Kabul, Afghanistan:

Sharing construction progress photos with you; please keep this very important project in your duas for success as I cannot begin to relate how critical this school is for the redemption of Afghanistan. 4,100 destitute girls and boys will insha’Allah get a quality education here, soon, insha’Allah. CAI has raised USD375,000 from the USD770,000 required for this massive project that will house a modern school with physics, chemistry, biology and computer labs and a library. The school hall abuts the Imam Hussein (A) mosque next door and will act as an overflow during Friday and Eid prayers, majalises in Muharram and Ramadhan and other crowd pulling days. Insha’Allah.

Widow Economic Empowerment through Sheep Husbandry:

As earlier advised, this particular project has seen the most success; instant poverty alleviation in Afghanistan. CAI donors gift each eligible widow 1 ram (male), 4 ewes (female) and 4 sheep (babies). This has instant results as the family then gets off poverty rolls and is economically empowered to use and sell all milk, yogurt, cheese and wool that the sheep produce. Even better outcome is multiplication of the sheep; the widows own about 20 of them in a year! Each unit cost USD500 but the results are startlingly fantastic. CAI wants to do as many of these as financially feasible and look for your support. What better way to empower a helpless and desperate widow than to make her independently free from begging and be taking care of her children?

Appeal for Ayman Fatimah Khan – A Paraplegic:

Ayman is a young 16 year old who was tragically struck down in an accident making her a paraplegic. She is from a very poor family and CAI will sponsor her school in a special care school (details attached). CAI has agreed to sponsor her case with an annual expense of INR50,000 (USD1,050). I kindly urge you to please help Aymen educate herself for a more honorable and productive life.

These Duas For You – Our Donors

I regularly receive emails form recipients of our donors contributions; one that I share with you below. This is what makes it all worth while, giving us a surety that our efforts help alleviate someone’s misery and desperateness. May Allah (S) bless the donors of CAI and grant you all success and happiness in this and after life. Jazaak’Allah.
